Emma Green finished third in her height comeback – Aftonbladet

Emma Green’s secret comeback ended with a third place.

The height 1.87 takes her up to second place in Sweden in the winter.

– Nothing super results, but it feels like a huge profit just to race again, she says.

After almost a year and a half without competition was Emma Green ready for the high jump comeback in Polish Torun on Friday evening.

– I want to do this for myself and have hardly dared to say it to my friends, ‘she said to GP ahead of the competition.

And the comeback on the track may be considered to be well accepted. Green went into the highest of all in the competition and did 1.80 in the first attempt. Then it took three attempts to coerce 1.85 before Örgryte Hopper’s wife flew over 1.87 in the first jump.

Mixed quality

1.89 then became too difficult despite an okay second try but the height was enough for third place behind Ana Simic and victorious polskan Urzula Gardzielewsk-Domel.

– It felt awkward, but still familiar, says Emma Green to be back on track again.

hopping was very up and down.

– I need to compete to get to safety and get to the level. There are no shortcuts to it, but you can only bite the bullet and get through it. I still feel that the capacity is there.

How is your body now?

– The back, who has been the big problem, feels great, no worries at all. Then there’s my little Achilles tendon to feel normal. It is now a bit sore afterwards, so I’ll see how it feels tomorrow and on Sunday.

The feeling in the tendon determine if it will boot in the Globe on Wednesday.

– I need tough unit and get the body, but I also need recovery. It is difficult, especially now, when the gala is at home in the Globe.

Junior World

Galan big highlight came just after Emma Green jumped completed when the 18-year-old Ewa Swoboda from Poland won the women’s 60 meters at the junior world record 7.07. The previous record, 7.09, put Nigeria’s Joan Ekah 1999. The time also puts the young polskan equal first in the world this year.
