Malmo got utter dream start when the visitors took the lead after just one minute and 11 seconds into the game. Frederik Storm in Malmo fired a shot that Haugen thought he had stopped, unfortunately for Färjestad some low puck loose beside Haugen. This notice Malmö Björn Svensson, who rushed towards goal and could easily push the puck for Scanians.
The match continued in a very low pace where nothing out of the law plays no further hockey. No further speed on the ice and it is not one of the teams that create any chances. It was finally the guests who took hold of the game, which yielded results in the form of a penalty at Färjestad Sebastian Erixon after about 8 minutes. This power play took the guests to be at, namely, the lead expanded to 2-0 after Mathias Tjärnqvist batted the puck on the volley. The puck lob was over Haugen and slipped in just under the crossbar, it was dialed on the goal to see if the club was over the bar or not, but it was not therefore, thus 2-0 to Malmö.
Malmo continued after the 2-0 goal to be the better team but it was especially Färjestad who did not come up close out the normal standard. The game was not there at all, her legs looked tough on most and passnignarna were not sitting where they were. Some major dangers created there over the last 10 mintuerna of the period, Färjestad went to the first break with a 0-2 underdog.
Second period:
My period started where the first left off, Malmo was slightly better gameplay but not anything out of the law played no further attacks hockey. The visitors got a puck in the post during the introductory part, but it was also the only real chance in the first half of the period.
It was like I said Malmo was the slightly better team and that is also why it is Malmo makes the match next goal when Johan Ivarsson makes his first food in SHL. Ivarsson got hold of the puck a few meters away from Haugen and fired a shot that slipped past the Norwegians. Haugen was blocked out of Malmo players and had therefore difficult to see the puck, the goal came 10 minutes and 46 seconds into the period.
Färjestad did not play some good hockey in this period either, but still got a few more coming in my act. A player who was behind this was mainly Antti Tyrväinen, the Finn fought and struggled and did not give Malmo slopes a quiet moment. Unfortunately, he was alone with this heroic work.
Malmö Mathias Tjärnqvist went on a penalty in the remaining 19 seconds of the period, during this time could not Färjestad to make a goal so guests had to go to the halftime break with a 3-0 lead.
Third period:
Färjestad brought a power play in the third period, the home team took on when Mikael Johansson gave the home crowd some hope when he reduced the lead to 1-3. Johansson got hold of the puck after a little bounce here and there and could bump up the puck behind Jonas Gunnarsson in Malmö goal. The home crowd joy, however, was short-lived. Malmo namely increased the lead to 4-1 just over 3 mintuer after reduction. It was Frederik Storm in away team had solo rides. The Dane got the puck in its own zone and then went up and rounded first Wisktrand then do the same with Haugen. The goalkeeper played totally removed and it was only the Storm to put the puck 4-1 for the visitors.
The third period was Färjestad clearly the best, now saw it in all cases like that the players wanted to play hockey. You had to long bouts and actually created a lot of chances to come. This game gave the final results when Färjestad reduced to 2-4. Michael Wisktrand placed an extremely nice pass to Joakim Nygård that came free with Gunnarsson. Nygård made absolutely no mistake and put the puck safely to the side of the keeper. The goal gave the home team even more energy, which is really noticeable on the game, Malmö became namely significantly pushed back, and had not much to say.
With just over 2 minutes left of the match gambled Färjestad to charge the goalkeeper in the hunt in yet another reduction. With 1 minute and 19 seconds left of the game that came the additional reduction when Milan Gulas put the puck behind the high Gunnarsson, a goal endorsed by video review. Now it was time to acknowledge hunting, but this chase came off relatively soon after Magnus Nygren hit a real Indian modern in its own zone when he put the puck right on Andreas Thuresson’s blade that was completely free of Haugen. Thuresson did not make any mistakes and put the puck behind Haugen, this goal settled the game altogether because left only one minute of the game.
The final minutes were played and was finally over. Guests thus winning the afternoon event with 5-3, a tremendous heavy loss to Färjestad in the hunt for a top 4 finish.
Färjestad three stars:
1 . Joakim Nygård. Located behind most of the offensive and tearing up the defense with his great skating. Expanded its fine målsvit with an additional match as he scored again tonight.
2. Antti Tyrväinen. Fighters and tear and is one of the few right now actually show up emotions on the ice.
3rd Mikael Johansson. Comes with here that competition was not really hear today. Had some nice uppåkningar in the third period where he ran up the puck nicely to the attacking zone.
