IBU takes a hard line – Sochi-doping biathletes reviewed – Swedish YLE

Anti-doping work in the sports world escalate once again. Now announces the International Biathlon Union IBU to scrutinize Olympic athletes who participated in Sochi two years ago.

During the Olympics in Russia went a biathlete caught doping. German Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle was shut down for two years.

– We have to turn all the stones. All vinteridrottsföbund should start a thorough investigation of what took place in Sochi, it is wrong not to do so, says anti-doping manager Jim Carrabre to NRK.

According to NRK IBU cooperate with the International Anti-Doping Agency WADA. IBU and WADA will share information including blood data.

Earlier, WADA Commission president Dick Pound has been open about their suspicions of fraud in Sochi.

In the Russian headquarters for the anti-doping would be examined 1417 doping tests had been destroyed. IBU had trouble analyzing tests during the games because of problems with the equipment.
