It is hard to be eternal runner “- Aftonbladet

Martin Johnrud Sundby crushed the competition.

Petter Northug became the fourth second place in the Tour de Ski.

– It’s hard to be the eternal runner-up, he says.

No one could threaten Martin Johnsrud Sundby. The Norwegian shrugged off Petter Northug early in the climb up the ski slopes of the Alpe Cermis and took second straight victory in the Tour de Ski.

– It felt miserable at first, but then I managed to recover. I knew I could be a stronger Northug a good day. He did a good race, but I’m very happy that I was stronger, says Norwegian.

“Be sure they would come”

Petter Northug managed to keep clear of Calle Halfvarsson and Jevjenij Belov and finished second for the fourth time in the Tour see Ski.

– It’s crap to be the eternal runner-up in the Tour de Ski. But I’m happy, I did a good climbing day. You just

have to take his hat off for Martin today, says Northug to SVT and continues:

– He’s strong on the slopes and for me it is actually a pretty good day on the slopes. I had to find my own rhythm. Would I go into the wall or find my rhythm. I went to ‘Safa’ and succeeded with it.

Northug was surprised not to Halfvarsson and Belov came up.

– I noticed that they went fast and was pretty sure that they would catch up. But I managed to stay away from. Coveralls the best Tour de Ski I have implemented.
