The Norwegian ski star Petter Northug likely to miss World Ski Championships in Falun in February.
He will likely be forced to begin serving his sentence for drunk driving shortly, writes Norwegian newspaper The class struggle.
The dessert fill crash in May was sentenced Northug to 50 days in prison, which he is likely to be able to serve with electronic tagging. – We treat all cases with the same starting point. Here there is no question that someone should get special treatment, says probation director Tore Raen to class struggle.
He also says that there has been no request to postpone the punishment and the same is confirmed by the Probation Service in Trondheim.

“Will probably be next fall”
Neither Northugs manager, Are Sorum Langås, or his coach Stige Rune Kveen, want to comment information to the newspaper but Petter Northug have previously said that he does not believe that the prison sentence will impact this season.
– It will probably be next fall, said the Norwegian Star in December.
His manager Are Sorum Langås could not give a clear answer:
– We expect, as Peter says, that it dissolves in a good way, but we do not know the exact status or time point for planning of the sentence.
