Rickard Rakell crowned Selännes great evening – Aftonbladet

Talk about choosing the right opportunity to shine.

Rickard Rakell, 21, scored four points (2 + 2) and topped off the evening with a stylish punishment – for himself Teemu night – when Anaheim won 5-4 on penalties.

– I have had quite a lot of bad luck, so it feels great, says Rakell.

Yes, it was really Teemu Selännes big night in the Honda Center when the jersey number 8 was retired in Anaheim.

But while the “Finnish Flash” and other NHL legends like Jari Kurri and Saku Koivu was in place in the arena took another högerfattad genombrottsman to show off.

Rickard Rakell, who made 12 points in his career before tonight’s meeting with the Winnipeg Jets, increased that number by two goals and two assists.

The 21-year-old Stockholm Comforter chirped among other things, to 4-4 with 2:03 left in the third period after having dragged the puck between the legs and then coaxed it past Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec.

“is just a game”

And in the fourth round of penalty Anaheim was forced to put his penalty for not lose. Who sent coach Bruce Boudreau forward unless Rickard Rakell?

In his only other penalties in the NHL ever, he showed evidence of grim self-confidence with a fast and long attraction to the backhand and pushed the puck so late into the clone happened in my post.

– It feels good, but it’s only a game, says Rakell who had a goal in his first 53 games in the NHL.

– I have shot so much in the target frame, entitled unlucky, so it feels great, says Rakell to nhl.com.

Finnish decisive

The crucial punishments were, however, appropriately enough, Finnish hill Sami Vatanen wrap.

– It was unbelievable. I can tell my grandchildren in the future that I made the decisive goal on Teemus evening, said Vatanen.

Jakob Silfverberg had to put Anaheim’s second penalty, but missed the target.
