Norwegian media: “This information is false ‘- Göteborgs-Posten

The information that Petter Northug would miss the World Cup is false according to the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.

Earlier during Thursday morning came the announcement that Petter Northug miss the World Cup in Falun, because of the judgment for drunk driving last year.

ski star will serve a 50 days in jail, but according to Dagbladet failed to apply for an exemption.

– Petter has not been given a date for the penalty. Therefore, we have not sought deferment, says Northugs Manager Sorum Langås to Dagbladet.

– Of course we have full control of this process, as long as we have not got a date for the punishment so we can not apply for suspension. For we do not know if the dates fit or not until we know when the sentence should begin, says Langås.
