Loss despite impressive goalkeeper game – Old Newspapers

Leksand’ve had it heavily against Frölunda during the season. After two losses in mutual matches, LIF win last December 13 by 2-1 in sudden, even though Frölunda had the upper hand during the match and won the shots with 49-16.

Frölunda has not been in the best shape before weekends with a long suite loss behind them. Eventually they took a trepoängare against Modo day before New Years Eve.

Leksand, however, was seen to last six innings, SHL’s most visually strong teams.

How to Saturday game at Scandinavium would go was therefore very difficult to predict.

Johan Svedberg, who was benched for a while, was back in the team and fourth fifth grade. Missing did Oscar Alsenfelt and Tomi Sallinen, two key players. Joakim Lundström were guarding the cage.

Frölunda got a painful start to the match. Within about two minutes the two players injured so badly that they had to leave the ice for the evening. Best scoring chance in the first period for Leksand had Toni Kähkönen, two-goal shooter against Farjestad, but the period ended goalless.

– It feels a little tough if I’ll be honest, but okay. We get them pretty where we want them, but need to protect our blue line better, said Fredrik Happened Land for Cmore the break.

In the second period took Leksand lead as Fabian Brunnstrom, who shot up 1-0 just when the home team was full strength after a penalty.

– I was actually about to change but followed up the attack. It was important to get the lead, said Brunnström to Cmore.

Frölunda ‘confirmed’ not much later, but the LIF goalkeeper Joakim Lundström was in the

middle of the situation become more or less hit by Frölunda Christoffer Persson and dropped his stick before the puck milliseconds later crossed the line. The goal was sentenced away after the Video Preview for offside.

Andreas Appelgren put it diplomatically pause, and compared with when Leksand themselves had a goal disallowed in a similar situation:

– There will be traffic in front of goal and assessment must be consistent.

In the third period got Lundström continued to work their asses off while Frölunda peppered the goal. At times the game was conducted unilaterally at Leksand’s court, but Lundstrom long held tightly and greatly impressed.

But with just under six minutes left in the period came Frölunda’s Mattias Janmark-Nylén free on goal and put 1-1. Shortly thereafter, they took the lead after a brilliant game of Mathis Olimb, who served Max Görtz.

In the final minutes were Frölunda expulsion and Leksand picked goalkeeper to play six to four. Linus Hultström barred, however, a neutral and shot wide. Thus resigned Frölunda with the victory.

– I think we resist good, small mistakes will be crucial, says Leksand Trainer Andreas Appelgren to Cmore.
