It was a 17th place Emma Johansson in the time trial at the World Championships in Richmond, Virginia. Johansson, who on Saturday is one of the favorites in the road race, was 17th at all intermediate times of the race.
The winner was Linda Melanie Villumsen, New Zealand, who finally got to step up to the top of the podium. She was runner-up in both 2011 and 2013 and took bronze in 2009, 2010 and 2012. Winning time for the earlier Danish of 29.9 kilograms meters became 40.29,87.
Anna van der Breggen, Netherlands, was three seconds behind Villumsen and a further three seconds behind came last year’s gold medalist Lisa Brennauer, Germany. Johansson was 1:48 behind the winner before.
