Suspicions matchfixning in court today – Sveriges Radio

Today begins a trial in Kristianstad district court of fixing football matches in order to make money on betting – so called matchfixning.

It’s about three players should have allowed themselves to be bribed to lose and incur red cards in three games.

They must also become vulnerable to threats and blackmail the three accused men.

The trial of matchfixning which kicks off today in Kristianstad district court is the second of its kind in Sweden.

The first was held in Jönköping District Court. Then acquitted the accused man from allegations that he tried to bribe three players in Värnamo a läggmatch.

The verdict has been appealed to be up in the Court of Appeal in a few weeks.

Now, the same man along with two others on trial in Kristianstad.

One of them is already doomed for matchfixning in Norway and also the judgment has been appealed.

Three players are charged with have allowed themselves to be bribed by the three men, and for the first time, a former player acknowledged and told the police what he had.

The echo has allowed another person to read the quote from police criminal investigations:

– They were sick aggressive and excitable and shoved and took kind tag and threatened that “you will see if you do not – we know where you live”.

The team would lose, the players incur red cards and fix shootout – otherwise they or their families are damaged or killed.

– So he was just: “You can create positions for yourself, and then you should do it within 20 minutes.” So then I was kind

of close to faint, I thought it was impossible.

The player chose, despite serious threats to the end going to the police, the other two players deny everything. Although the three accused men deny any criminal charges.
