Skoglund defending champions – Helsingborgs Dagblad

The victory on Saturday gives Skoglund a retrospect of 23 wins and not a single loss. But a herniated disc surgery in February prevented from matches, the last one was at the end of last year.

During that time he has moved from Team Sauerland camp in Berlin, home to the family in Nyköping.

And gathered a completely new Swedish team around itself, with coach Tommy Antman at the tip.

– I let him more toward the end. I was unsure if he had more to give and did not charge me unnecessarily. Fitness has worked well during sparring, but after nine months without a match and disk surgery dare I still do not blow on.

Skoglund took command directly to the compactor , seasoned and significantly shorter Ukrainian.

Skoglund thought before the game that it would go all twelve rounds and he called the 34-year-old Tjerviak boxing killer with his buttoned style.

– I got him a little awkward at first, says Skoglund.

Controlled and varied boxing, he got a hole in Tjerviaks gardening. It was above all with its long vänsterjabb he found the right. He never managed to really shake his opponent. Points victory was unquestionable, all judges had Skoglund victorious.

Skoglund’s quest for a World Title match continues. 24-year-old needs at least two, three wins to to get there.

– I feel ready to join a

match to year. I am eager to start a new training camp in principle at a time, says Skoglund.
