Karlskrona’s goalkeeper Patrick Galbraith soured to substantially and struck Henry Törnqvist against the Vizier.
So bad that he got a match penalty – after only five minutes.
In powerplayet snatched Linkoping out to 3-0, and could win 4-1.
– It is not okay, he put us in a very bad situation, said coach Per Hånberg in C More.
It is not usual for goalies go on a match penalty.
But Thursday morning occurred the strange thing – and Karlskrona dire – when Patrick Galbraith soured the lot.
After a Linkoping Clearance as goalkeeper held in his picking glove, he suffered some blows by the opposing player. Galbraith responded by turning up from his case against Linköping Henrik Törnqvist – and slapped him on the face with its shock.
The battle did not seem to hit worse than on the visor. But judgments duo Mikael Nord and Marcus Lind quickly took the decision to give the goalie a five minute penalty for roughing and a match penalty.
It would prove to be costly for Karlskrona.
Andre Goalkeeper Linus Fernström stood between the posts, and under powerplayet went Linkoping out to the entire 3-0 in five minutes.
Linköping had no problems keeping aside their lead and eventually won the match with 4-1.
– It’s tough to get three goals against directly. It will be an uphill battle, but I think the guys warrior for good, says Karlskrona coach Per Hånberg in C More.
And KHK’s coach did not have much sympathy for Galbraith’s prank that caused the match penalty.
– It is not okay, he put us in a very bad situation. There is personal responsibility on the ice, it’s tightening up.
