Can leave as Bosman: “His mind, yes” – Gothenburg Post

Jakob Johansson wants further in the football life. Now, evidence suggests that IFK Gothenburg may place him free.

– The few we accept so, says sports director Mats Gren.

He has for eight years been a loyal and valued player in IFK Gothenburg midfield – and in recent years he has grown to be a key figure. Prior to this season, he extended his contract by one year and then said in an interview with GP:

– It would be good for me if IFK get paid if I leave. IFK has come through for me.

But when the summer window was opened did not bid on any club Trollhätte guy. And now it does not seem like that Johansson intend to extend the contract any more, which means that after the season is free to go to any club he wants, without transfer fee.

– I would think that it is his thought, yes. We must accept in that case. He has done so much for IFK Göteborg in so many years and he wants to try something new after all, says Mats Gren.

Bosman player leaves that are sometimes viewed with disfavour, but in this case, the 24 year old have done their utmost for the club to get paid for him. So it has not been, and perhaps the high market value scare away potential stakeholders. According to German Transfer Markt Johansson is worth 2 million, which is third most in the headlines. GP has sought in vain Jakob Johansson for

comment.

There are more question marks in IFK Gothenburg for next season. May Mahlangu has not yet decided whether he wants to stay in Gothenburg and also other goalkeeper Marcus Sandberg ponder the future.

– I have given them until next week to ponder, then we will take a call, says Branch .

Discussions are also on long-term injured Philip Haglund, and with back veteran Hjalmar Jonsson. Faller the latter, as Kjetil Waehler, life spans

– He wants to be left behind and we are looking at how it looks in budgetary terms and in terms of age structure. But I hope and think that Hjalmar will play a role for us next year, says sports director.

As for the two loan players Nordin Gerzic and Daniel Sobralense, both in Orebro, so the future is uncertain. Both have one year left on the contract with Blåvitt.

– But there will be no extended lending. Either they stay in Örebro, or they come here, or there will be another club, says Mats Gren.
