This makes Mercedes to world champion.

– We are the best there is amazing, says team manager Toto Wolff.

World Cup runner-up Nico Rosberg chan said already in the second curve of the Russian GP in Olympics -The city Sochi. He took over the lead from the World Cup leader Lewis Hamilton, but he braked so hard that he went over run-off zone and was forced into the pits.

He switched to hard tires and came out on the track at location 19 again, where he began his quest to keep alive in the battle for the World Championship title. He drove 52 laps on the same set of tires and goals, he was second only to Mercedes colleague Lewis Hamilton which allowed Mercedes secured constructor championship.

– On the one hand, I am incredibly disappointed that I did that mistake, but I’m very happy for the team’s sake for they deserve the title says Rosberg after the race.

Praise for Rosberg

He also received much praise of Mercedes’ lead the race:

– Actually, it was Nico who drove most of the day. He missed the slowdown, it can happen to anyone, says the three-time world champion Niki Lauda to RTL.

– But when he came back out on the course, he fought his way through the field and he did a perfect race. You can not criticize his effort somehow.

But of course the World Cup runner-up was disappointed in himself:

– For my own part, I feel frustration. It was my curve, I made a mistake and did not have to take that risk. I had been able to take the lead and win the race. It was really stupid of me, says Rosberg to RTL.

– Once I had changed tires so I thought all along that it

was possible. The car is fantastic and I saved how much fuel and tires at any time, the tires were okay in the end. In retrospect, I realize that I had been able to drive faster through the entire race, but the team was obviously worried that it would take a shit on the end.

17 point lead

Hamilton won the fourth race in a row and he thereby increasing its lead in mäskertskapet.

– I’m incredibly happy, it was a fantastic weekend, says Lewis Hamilton.

It means that the British have 17 point lead when there remain three races of the season. In total there are 100 points left to fight about.

Valtteri Bottas, Williams finished third and Jenson Button, McLaren was four.

– Mercedes is still superior, but I’m incredibly satisfied with how we have developed as a team compared to last season, said Bottas after the race.

– We are standing on the podium again and must be satisfied.

Marcus Ericsson, Caterham, was the 19th man, the last of the drivers who took it to the finish.

– I made a really good start and the first stint was good, says Marcus Ericsson.

– But the second stint on the prime tire was not as good. I did not get them to work, I had no grip and I, I got to go into the pits to swap them back and then the race was over for us. Then we were too far behind Lotus. I’m disappointed because it felt so good in the beginning and we should have done a better result.
