AIK Hockey is more or less ready to play in Hockey Allsvenskan next season after the 4-0 victory against IK Panther.
Then put the club a new target.
– We are committed to go undefeated throughout qualifying, it is our goal, says Robin Kovacs.
Wednesday’s match against IK Panther was settled already in the first period. 1-0 came after 6:40 by Robin Kovacs.
48 seconds later score was 3-0 to AIK.
– We come out really strong, then we lower ourselves in others, and third. But that said, we will determine in the first period and puts the nail in the coffin there. It was a nice minute, says Kovacs.
Aims to win everything
The victory was AIK’s sixth straight in the qualifying game and tops the series by far. A place in next year’s hockey premier league is virtually assured. But AIK players are not content with it.
– We are committed to go undefeated throughout qualifying, it is our goal and we will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal.
The coach Peter Nordström is on the same line.
– Some say that we have already been completed, some say that a point or three points. But it does not matter whether we are ready or not. We have said that we should try to win every game and my role as a leader is to motivate, develop, and not be satisfied.
“Almost unbeatable”
Next, awaits away game against Sundsvall on Saturday for AIK. Now they have forgotten the heavy due season and has a very self-confident attitude toward the matches ahead of them.
– We ourselves have realized that we are better than we have been in the season and that if we just play as we know we can do, then we’re almost unbeatable, says Kovacs.
