Olimb Frölunda’s great victory director – Göteborgs-Posten

Max Görtz was two-goal shooter. But there was a Norwegian assists king who excelled most in Scandinavium.

– Very fun to see Mathis Olimb. He fought like an animal, said Roger Rönnberg.

To meant a sudden everything nothing.

55 innings, a basic series, was in basically just history.

This Thursday evening came new conditions in force. It was the start of a quarterfinal series and simple rules: Advance or take a vacation.

Frölunda part stood Lulea on the other side. A familiar opponent who has been slapped around earlier in the season.

And of course became even this meeting both dense and intense.

Only the first period contained 35 penalty minutes. Erik Gustafsson’s match penalty, imposed after a tough tackle on Cam Abbott, contributed the largest share.

– A stone that can end careers, commented Lulea coach Joakim Fagervall.

– I do not that Erik could have done something different there. I would be surprised if there will be a shutdown, said Roger Rönnberg.

In the middle of deportation hurricane was played, however hockey.

And there was Frölunda the sharpest team. In all cases målmässigt. At least initially.

After scant eleven minutes played took the red robed management. In powerplay by Max Görtz. He was Frölunda’s top point scorer in last year’s playoffs.

Twelve minutes later, in the second period, exploded Scandinavium again.

This time it was Andrew Johnson, who was listed on the scoresheet.

The goal came in a match sequence where Frölunda played dazzling hockey. Skating was brilliant, the pace higher than high. Visiting Lulea did not have a chance to keep up.

Fully fair was also a 3-0 goal.

25.48 on the game clock. Max Görtz again, his second of the evening. Most credit for that objective, however, Mathis Olimb have.

Assist King, 39 pieces of the regular season, played brilliantly puck through the entire castle and recorded at the same time for tonight’s third-fit points.

There and then saw the game out to just be able to go in one direction.

But so suddenly. From nowhere. 3-1.

Captain Chris Abbott, back after suspension, lirade forward Peter Cehlarik in a rapid conversion.

In the third period manages to Lulea then reduce once again. Johan Harju scorer.

Further than were however not the guests. Frölunda held off and thus took the lead in the match series.

– I think we handled many hot situations in a good way, says Roger Rönnberg.

– It was a little unnecessary exciting at the end just …

On Saturday reset the law against each other again. As with Luleå as home team.
