Ericsson start in jeopardy after the new decision – Old Newspapers

– It’s a bit worrying that it just goes on and it escalates, says Eje Elgh, Ericsson’s adviser, said.

– But it has not at any time been necessary to replace Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr with any other driver.

According Elgh Ericsson and Nasr registered for Sunday’s race and Ericsson is preparing as usual before an F1 race. The only thing that is a bit different is that Sauber limited medieakiviteterna for the drivers given the ongoing battle with Van der Garde.

– Marcus decided already when this story began not to care until it is his problem. Formula 1 requires full focus and he does everything according to plan. So far it has not reached to a point when it becomes a question whether he should run or not. He has known since November that he will run. He works only on what, says Elgh.

Can become seizure

The 29-year-old Dutchman is convinced he’ll get run Sunday’s race, and he’ll have time to get super license which normally takes several weeks to get.

– Sauber have to work with us now. There is no other option, he told reporters at the scene before the Court in Melbourne.

To avoid Sauber delaying the matter has van der Garde lawyers asked the court to compel Sauber to follow the court order, writes F1 journalist Adam Cooperstown.

Sauber have to come to a decision a few hours before the first training shall be conducted at 0230, the night of Friday. Otherwise, the court may request the seizure of Sauber assets in Australia – that is, Formula 1 cars and other equipment. The judge has already requested a list of Sauber assets. As a last resort, van der Garde Meeting Sauber team boss Monisha Kaltenborn.

Valid all season

Giedo van der Garde claimed he had a contract with Sauber this year, and got right in a Swiss court. In order to drive this weekend’s F1 debut in Melbourne, he turned to an Australian court, which gave him the right to do so.

Sauber appeal. The whole thing was pulled in again in court in the night – but with the same result. The Court also argues that it applies for the entire season and the van der Garde can refer to the Australian court decision in other countries.

The case has been named “Seat Gate” and the legal processes likely to continue.

Australian GP run on Sunday morning, Swedish time.
