Anders Sodergren got right color at the 91st edition of Vasaloppet. He put full speed from the start and got a gap after the first uphill run. In Smågan, after 11 km ride, led Södergren by one minute and 19 seconds. When he reached Mångsbodarna after 24 km, however, had the peloton led by Norwegian Andreas Nygaard caught up and passed. Nygaard quickly got a gap of 22 seconds and won the first intermediate sprint.
In the women’s race makes Britta Johansson Norgren and schweiziskan Seraina Boner company in the lead.
There was no start Vasaloppet for Johan Olsson. World champion woke up on Sunday morning with a cold. The three-time Vasaloppet winner Jorgen Brink was also forced to cancel.
