RIGHT NOW: Jakobsson reduces to 2-1 – Football Channel

underdog and usage has become a proven victorious arms of Sweden. But in the battle with Germany for third place in the Algarve Cup, it was not the way.
Sweden fell by 1-2 and finishing fourth in the tournament.

It all began just like last against Germany. Already in the first minute created the Germans their first dangerous scoring chance and the third placed Anja Mittag 1-0 to Germany, was played by Fatmire Alushi.

Germany opened in a fast pace, and Sweden had trouble keeping up with.

The national coach Pia Sundhage chose to start with Kosovare Asllani on the bench, and instead have Therese Sjögran as a striker next Lotta Schelin in front of a midfield with Sofia Jakobsson, Hanna Folkesson and Lisa Dahlkvist.

About halfway into the first half changed Sjögran and Jakobsson place, and Sweden got a better pressure in the attacking game.

Well-designed World Cup line-up
break swapped Asllani of Dahlkvist and Sweden played with that in the current situation seems to be the intended starting lineup in World Cup opener against Nigeria on 8 June. So at that Carola Söberg stood in goal in place of the injured finger Hedvig Lindahl.

Even Germany made some changes in the break, and in came the trio Celia Sasic, Dzenifer Marozsan and Alexandra Popp. Yielding dividends immediately.

Popp pressed into 2-0 to the Germans from close range in the 51st minute, and again it was a brilliant fitting Fatmire Alushi who played the ball forward.

2-0 could have been 3-0 a few minutes later, but Sjoberg was helped by the bar when a delicate crux Mittag fired a hard wrist shot in the step.

Jakobsson scorer
next goal was instead Swedish. Lotta Schelin dotted pole with a clearance, and Sofia Jakobsson could then roll the ball into the open goal. Jakobsson was also close to equalizing when Schelin made their way around the edge and played the ball to midfielder who, however, rolled it in the post.

Germany won 2-1 and thus took care of third place in the Algarve Cup. Sweden ending four.

The next collection on the road to the World Cup, and the last before the World Cup squad presented, for the Swedish team will be in April when Sweden faced Switzerland and Denmark at home.
