Continence tournament over – also Murray eliminated – Swedish YLE

The quarter-final, but no longer. Henri Kontinen in pairs of Su-Wei Hsieh was knocked out of US Open tennis after a tight battle against the second seeded pair of Yung-Jan Chan and Rohan Bopanna.

The indisktaiwanesiska duo won the first set after the tiebreak but Kontinen and his Taiwanese partner, won the second 7-5.

The match went to the super tiebreak where Chan and Bopanna were stronger with 13-11 and Continence tournament is thus over after the loss in the men’s doubles before.

“I have no words”

In the singles took the second-seeded Simona Halep and Roger Federer on to the quarterfinals, but third seed Andy Murray came to a stop.

Murray lost a little over four hours long clash against Kevin Anderson of South Africa by 1-3 in sets. Grand Slam quarter-final spot is the 29-year-old Anderson’s first career.

– I have no words. I managed to hold together the game throughout the match and played probably one of my best matches in life, says Anderson .

In the quarterfinals get Anderson against him another two-time Grand Slam winner of Stanislas Wawrinka. The fifth-seeded Swiss beat home player Donald Young 3-1 in sets.
