Rönnberg see a marked difference – Göteborgs-Posten

The season has barely started – but Roger Rönnberg see a new and improved Frölunda.

– This team is the best I’ve trained here .

On Thursday continues Champions Hockey League with away fighting in Jyväskylä, Finland – and even if there are two weeks left to face off in SHL can Frölunda’s head coach already tell a marked difference in his gang.

– If I compare this team with the two earlier that I trained in Frölunda, this is the gang a little tougher, a little tjurigare. It begins to show itself. We will be better when it is so.

On the trainings in the past week there have been so tough sometimes players even celebrated together. Ryan Lasch and Elias Fälth, two of the team’s smallest players, for example, was not entirely happy at each other after an intense exercise.

– Now I do not need a coach they pursue this with the competition. I coach do not need to talk about what is right and wrong anymore. Now runs the team, they were pushing each other. This is where we wanted to come. It has created a culture of how you is in Frölunda, what does in Frölunda. What is right, what is not okay, cuddles Roger Rönnberg.

Anton Karlsson is the talent that went to Skelleftea, but came back to Frölunda. He has developed and can now almost all of the ten points that the club requires in terms of strength, agility, stamina and endurance.

It has resulted in Karlsson got to play – and done well too!

– I actually spoke with Anton about it this morning – he’s made it pretty damn good last week. He hits on all the time and we see more often this JVM Anton, we have as the target together. The picture where he is physically tough, go very skates, are brazen in the campaigns with the puck. And he says: “It’s the environment that makes it.” You can not not to take that extra bit – or, as he did in the juniors, took a break and pause every two bytes. It is good that we have on the environment – for it will nurture new winners!

The Arizona-drafted striker also feels more mature.

– To come into this environment each Today, to compete … especially on a sweater – that’s what I feel! It’s just to run, says Karlsson.

The flight from Landvetter to Helsinki, then by bus in 27 mil to Jyväskylä. Advancement is clear, but now the team victory ensured. Anyone who does so much for rankings and the continued path towards lifting the Champions Hockey League trophy next February.

– Yes, we can of course to win the group – there is nothing else. We will win all the matches, said Roger Rönnberg.

Spencer Abbott has rehabilitated his groin in record time – and is on the ice tonight.

– He looks good! He follows with – and plays, clarifies Rönnberg.

No risk that you will aggravate something in his groin injury?

– It is well always. An elite athlete is never completely healthy. It’s about being playable. We and the medical team deems it so that he – and it’s a very important match that we want to win.

And he tells him if he has hurt this time?

– I think not. Players want to play, they would not be damaged. They do everything to hide it if it is the correct character, says Rönnberg.

There were some players who always had a sore toe or something when it was time for the wrestling thing years ago ?

– It is not so in Frölunda longer. Now we have an attitude where everyone wants to play. There is also a competitive team, where everyone wants to monitor their seats.

With Finland also follows juniors Kevin Elgestål, John Dahlstrom and new Alexander Younan from the HV71. The latter has only been in Frölunda in just over a month – and already learned a lot. Who cherish the puck, for example.

– I felt that I had to change the environment. Try something else. I had no confidence in HV longer, says Alexander Younan.

He is happy with the change, of course.

– It is a fantastic youth activities here in Frölunda. There is a difference like day and night. I felt it was very taken when I came here to Frölunda …
