Fifa scandal continues – peaks turned off – Gothenburg Post

Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini’s future was uncertain. Yesterday it was claimed that the two risked a shutdown of 90 days. Today came the expected announcement.
“The basis for these decisions are the investigations carried out by the criminal investigation team from FIFA’s ethics committee,” writes FIFA in a statement.

It is schwezizska prosecutor’s office investigating FIFA and its president Sepp Blatter for suspected corruption. Although several major sponsors of Fifa gone and demanded the departure of Blatter, he sits there.

Blatter is suspected that both have signed an illegal agreement for television rights to the Caribbean Football Association in 2005, and awarded an “unfair payment” 17.2 million to UEFA president Michel Platini 2011.
– This whole story is an aggravating circumstance, and we said right away. This is incredibly bad for his candidacy. On Thursday, however, came the news that FIFA’s ethics kommité closing of Blatter, Platini and Jerome Valcke (have already left) 90 days. The suspension may be extended by 45 days.

The shutdown means that Blatter’s days as FIFA president is counted and Michel Platini can not be his replacement, according to The Guardian.
