Former world number one Ernie Els opening of this year’s Masters is already a golf classic, although the South African myself probably would like to forget it.
Els had to write there ten strokes on the scorecard after playing the opening par 4 hole at Augusta – where he needed seven putts on the green.
putt after putt from less than a meter failed before Els casually burned a putt from just any dm. In the end he managed to poke the ball on the seventh attempt.
Ten kinds of the first hole is a new record in the Masters context.
