Stenson six shots behind Spieth – Västerbotten Courier

Sports Telegram This year’s first golf major of the men’s side, the US Masters, is running. Last year’s winner Jordan Spieth has taken an early lead. Both Henrik Stenson and David Lingmerth were however major problems in the “Amen Corner”.

Augusta, Georgia offers perfect conditions – sunshine, moderate wind and a temperature of around 20 degrees – during the first day’s play.

the Swedish international Henrik Stenson sixth grade began by losing a battle already on the first hole and then mixed good and bad. After three birdies and two bogeys, he was one under par, but on the twelfth hole – the hole cards of the classic “Amen Corner” – was a gross abuse. Stenson had hit a new ruling from the tee and made a double bogey.

Stenson managed to recover and after a birdie on the 18th, he finished the day at the par, 72 stroke.

Six types was better last year’s sovereign Jordan Spieth, who switched to an early lead in the race for his second straight Masters victory.

David Lingmerth dropped just as Stenson kind on the twelfth hole. The Swedish Masters debutant struck verdict in the water and made a triple bogey. With a couple of holes left to play is Lingmerth ten strokes from the lead and far down in the results list.
