Now it is clear that Sweden’s national team will meet in the Olympics in Rio in the summer. It was a tough draw for Sweden’s women’s team and men will be matches in the Amazon jungle.
Pia Sundhage’s national team will face host nation Brazil in the Olympics this summer.
– awesome to get meet Brazil at home, it’s a real football team, says coach Pia Sundhage said.
She finds opportunities to progress to the quarter-finals are great and are happy to national team avoid troublesome trips, unlike the Swedish men colleagues.

The opening match is against South Africa on August 3 in Rio. In the second match awaits meeting with Brazil and the final match in the group will be against China.
Men’s national football team will play its first two Olympic matches in remote Manaus in the Amazon jungle. Not quite what coach Håkan Ericson had hoped for today’s draw.

Sweden meets Colombia (4 August) and Nigeria (7 August) in Manaus before the group stage ends against Japan in Salvador (10 August).
