Frölunda’s best in Sweden by 5-3 against Skellefteå. The club’s fourth national championship is a fact.

Roger Rönnberg gang had a real gold seat for the fifth SM-finals up in Skelleftea. 3-1 in matches was the only one to win needed to secure the SM-gold.

Frolunda got a dream start to the match when målkungen artturi lehkonen set 1-0 after only 1.46 behind Erik Hanses – frispelad by Ryan Lasch. Anton Axelsson he was burning a neutral position before Nicklas Lasu was sent off.
Frölunda held off the short-handed and Lasu he barely get out on the ice from the penalty bench before he was freed and failed in his drawing. But the puck slipped out anyway. Skelleftea did what they could in the second period and reduced by Sebastian Aho and looked to be heading into game. A minute later Luke Bengtsson fired the first shot on goal for Frölunda in the period – a shot that slipped in behind Johan Backlund who replaced Erik Hanses in the bag. Pär Lindholm reduced the changed Skelleftea for a cheap return of Johan Gustafsson.
When Skelleftea pressed for even a reduction they forgot Ryan Lasch who easily put the 5-2. His 19th points in the playoffs, and equaled the scoring record with Lehkonen. Gold and already fixed for Frölunda? Not according to Joel Lundqvist.

It was an exciting finish to the game after Skelleftea received reducer puck ten minutes left. But Frölunda held off and joy scenes could not be mistaken.
SM-gold is Frölunda fourth in history – now expected a celebration for several days in Gothenburg, starting as early as Sunday evening.
