Los Angeles might seek Olympics 2024 – Swedish Dagbladet

On September 15 is the deadline for submitting a letter of intent. January 8, candidates must have submitted an official application to state guarantees. The decision on the host city to be Sept. 15, 2017.

There are only four European cities that have so far confirmed their applications – Rome, Paris, Budapest and Hamburg.

– We believe that a US application can be successful and after discussion decided to possibly seek to Los Angeles, said Larry Probst, chairman of the US Olympic Committee (USOC).

Los Angeles has organized the Summer Olympics twice before 1932 and 1984. Most recently, the United States staged the Summer Olympics in 1996 in Atlanta.

Boston’s application fell on the tepid interest among Boston residents. In Los Angeles, supports 81 percent of an Olympic bid.
