He is Malmö’s new coach: “Proud” – Aftonbladet

Malmo Redhawks have made clear with a new coach.

By the Malmö player Peter Andersson, 50, has signed a two-year contract with the club.

– I’m very proud and happy to have the mission to train the Malmo Redhawks, says Peter Andersson in a press release.

Now the club has presented a replacement – when the former Malmo player Peter Andersson, 50, takes over tränarsysslan. In a press release writing club that Andersson will take office on 1 May, has signed a two-year contract with the club.

– I’m very proud and happy to have the mission to train Malmö Redhawks. I look forward to coming Malmo and I think the club has something big in the works, says Peter Andersson in the press release.



“A genuine experience”

Andersson is a former player of Malmo. He represented the club during the periods 1989-1992, 1994-1996 and 2001-2005 – and captained the SM-gold, 1992.

– We’ll bring Peter to us to take another step. We are delighted that he wants to come here and we have a coach who has solid experience in practicing law at a high level. We believe he is the right man for us to become a better hockey team, says sports director Patrik Sylvegård.



Took Orebro to SHL

Peter Andersson was previously the general manager and assistant manager of the club but was fired in January 2009. Since then he has been the coach of Orebro, which he brought to SHL, and the assistant manager in Swiss Lugano.

Malmo Redhawks ended during the past season in twelfth place in the SHL.
