Irene Ekelund on to the European Championship semifinals – Swedish Radio

The Swedish sprint talent ran in four goals in his heat and took a seat directly to the semifinals. The time was 7.27, just one hundredth of her personal best.

– I am very satisfied, I did not think I’d run at that time, I’ve had a little numb the back so I did not know about it would receive, but it went well, says Irene Ekelund.

Now wait a massage and rest for tomorrow’s semifinals.

– It feels a bit but it does not feel so much so that it would break or so, says Irene Ekelund.

There were many fast times in the women’s trials, even though the clock was not over just after 10 in the morning in Prague. Holland’s Dafne Schippers was the fastest of all in the experiments with 7.07. In addition Irene Ekelund also took Elin Ostlund semifinalist for fourth place in the race and a new personal best.

In the men’s attempts race became a nervous wait for Erik Hagberg who came fifth in his heat and had to rely on that time would be enough for a semi-final place.
