IFK Gothenburg held during the Thursday evening a membership meeting for the purpose of telling the club’s financial situation. In the meeting, as revealed Board to tackle the tangled finances so now sold the venerable gymnasium Comrade farm Varberg Stone Properties.
Blåvitt-Board’s decision has aroused strong feelings among supporters that rages, including through Social Media. And there are more reacting.
The former chairman of IFK Gothenburg, between 1982 and 2001, Gunnar T Larsson was not present on the meeting but was quickly told about the decision. And Larsson was shocked by what he heard.
– I think it’s terrible. I am extremely disappointed, sad, angry at how they can deal with this is a heart symbol for IFK Gothenburg and has been for all the years since Comrade farm came to. And I say this especially given that they have already taken the decision and announced it today at a meeting. And what I felt spontaneously when I was told it was that it could not be possible that a united board stands and announces that they have taken this decision. Without a sense of what IFK Gothenburg and, generally, the compound is, he tells Soccer Channel and continues:
– And the first thing I felt was also this one can not do without a membership meeting. An additional annual meeting, or what you want and tell you that now we have a serious crisis in the association and we have different thoughts and this is one of them. One must have a membership meeting approval. For it ruins all things what the feeling is for the association, and now I say it with my sense of what Comrade farm has meant from when I started in 1982 and the feeling and the cohesion associated with Comrade farm. It was our farm. It was not someone else’s yard or any tenant, and so on. As you understand, I’m both excited and sad and mad at the same time.
Less than two weeks ago kicked club director Martin Kurzwelly and in connection with the presented IFK Gothenburg a package of measures on how to bring order to the economy. The package was no mention of that Comrade farm could be sold. Gunnar T Larsson, who today is honorary president of Blåvitt, mean that the Board must now bear his throws.
– It is clear that this must have its consequences. I can not understand how you can have one, if it is true, united board that has taken this decision. For someone ought to have received any vibration in the head that; We can do this without allowing the members to be involved and make a decision like that. There is no company, there is an association.
– No matter how difficult the situation is, I mean that one can not construct these kinds of solutions without listening to the members of the that case.
How do you think the confidence of the board is influenced by supporters and others around the club?
– It is clear that prejudice. The Board, if they have been involved in this and has been a united board, they have to consider their own situation and simply make their seats available for next year’s nominating committee. It is, I quite definite on. It is a terribly bad decision. And to have it finished and not even thinking compound terms that it is the members who “owns” the association said Gunnar Larsson Soccer Channel.
