One of the biggest tennis stars are now choosing to quit.

Robin Soderling has not played a match of 4.5 years and are now forced to quit due to illness .

Now announces Soderling that he cancels all attempts at a comeback.

Tennis star fell ill with glandular fever just weeks before the Swedish Open in Bastad 2011, but did not realize the seriousness and continued to practice and play. It meant he had a strong overtraining syndrome

“I have since struggled to recover completely from this. With the disease it has been impossible for me to train one hundred percent,” says 31-year-old in a press release.

“Of course this is a very sad decision. Now, in hindsight, I feel that I should have listened better to my body, and then have avoided the illness but on the other hand, it is always easy to be wise after the event, and Tennis is a sport that requires that they maximize their workouts to maintain a position in the top of the world. “
