The nine year old Emilia Öhberg have long wondered why women’s football players are paid less than men.

Therefore, she wrote a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Löfven. Now she has received an answer.

– I do not really know how many letters he receives, and if he has time to answer all but I’m very proud and happy that I got an answer, says Emilia to P4 Värmland.

The nine year old from Värmland Valberg, who wants to become a professional football player, think it is unfair not to girls and boys get equal salary in football and floorball.

“I wondering if it is possible to change that, “wrote Emilia in the letter.

In its reply mentions the Prime Minister that he also wanted to become a professional footballer when he was little and he agrees that it is unfair to boys and Girls earn different amounts, even though they work on the same thing. He also writes that the government has focused on gender equality.

“Equal pay for equal work is an important part of our work on gender equality,” writes Stefan Löfven.
