– I’m only here because of the Premier League’s rules, said Van Gaal.
The latest days, Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal has been subject to frequent writings in the British press. United have an unsuccessful period behind it, and is currently nine points behind league leaders Leicester.
Earlier in December, reported The Independent that Van Gaal would be fired if United lost against Chelsea and Stoke in julmatcherna. Data also argues that kicked Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho is current as replacements.
On Wednesday spoke Arsene Wenger about the rumors surrounding the United-manager.
– I think it is disrespectful, said the Frenchman at a press conference.
And when Van Gaal sat down in front of the gathered press corps a moment later it was clear that he too is clearly irritated by the writings about his future.
– Is there anyone in this room who feel that they owe me an apology? I thought I had already been fired says 64-year-old, and continues:
– What do you think happens with my wife and my children? Or with my granddaughter?
Van Gaal made it clear that he would prefer to be anywhere else.
– You think I want to talk to the media now? I’m only here because of Premier League rules. I must talk to you.
– You have to stick to the facts, and when I get the call from Ed Woodward, Alex Ferguson and David Gill, because you are creating things that are not good. It is not the facts, and now I have to answer
– I am focused on Stoke. I wish you a merry Christmas maybe a happy new year when I see you.
Then stormed the Dutchman out of the room.
“That was a planned attack on the media,” writes the BBC Journalist David Ornstein on Twitter.
