At last NHL debut for the Swede: “Fun” – Expressen

LOS ANGELES. After 94 games over three seasons in the AHL with Anaheim’s farm team Norfolk Admirals got Max Friberg, 22, finally making its debut in the NHL tonight, Swedish time.

– Glad it was my turn, and it sure was nerve-wracking he says to SportExpressen.se after the night’s 2-1 win over Vancouver.

It was a long and exciting day for Max, after Saturday evening’s away game with the Admirals against Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania was told that he was named to Anaheim and would fly to California early Sunday morning.

– I landed at 13 o’clock and had time to eat lunch and rest for a while before it was time for the match at 17, he says.

So how did it feel to finally debut in the NHL?

– Yes, it was very fun and less as expected. Higher tempo and intensive game, you have less time on them and must make decisions faster.

You received form the chain with

Rickard Rakell?

– It is Always fun to play with him, we’ve been playing together part in the AHL before.

Happy with the season in Norfolk?

– It’s been quite okay and if I did well enough from me to be named here, so have I made little progress.

Now you’ll naturally want to remain in the Ducks?

– Sure, it’s the toughest challenge. To bite his left here. There are many forwards competing for places, but I’ll do what I can to stay.

Friberg had to do twelve prey and play 8:47 minutes in his NHL debut.

He wore jersey number 43 in Anaheim.
