Gold Dreams disappeared against Norway – Göteborgs-Posten

Gold Dream burst in Budapest.

Now, the Swedish handball ladies only one focus: to win a bronze.

– We came here for a medal and really want it, says Isabelle Gulldén

European Championship 2010 World Championship gold in 2011 and Olympic gold in 2012. It was a nightmare opponent that the Swedish handball ladies were received in the European Championship semi-finals. A juggernaut that is no stranger to pave the way up to the big championship finals.

With that in mind, should the meeting in Budapest have only been able to stop one way. Which it did.

It was a Norwegian victory, 29-25 to end. Numbers that shattered all Swedish dreams of gold.

– We are obviously disappointed. We had a dream to go to the finals, so it is clear that it feels heavy, said head coach Tomas Sivertsson to TV4 after the game.

As the result, the team is now satisfied with the bronze match against Montenegro on Sunday.

A team Swedes fell ignominiously received as late as Wednesday, 29-30.

– It will not be difficult to reload. We have revenge to demand, said Jamina Roberts in TV4.

To be successful, much get better.

Not least match the introduction.

In Norway accounted team on heels. And had not started attacking game. Before the clock had reached four

minutes played score was 3-0. A nightmare start out blue and yellow point of view.

The Swedes managed to stop the målflödet. And like so many times before during the tournament the team grew into the game. Goalkeeper game got better, defense wall was built stronger and so trampled the offensive started. Much thanks to superstar Isabelle Gulldén who scored three goals in a first half that ended 13-11.

It felt like it was off again.

And the feeling lasted for a good well into the second half.

The teams went together. It differs a goal, it differed two goals, it separated a goal again.

Someone acknowledgment received the Swedish women never to.

Instead, could Norwegians change up, go away and definitely puncture the game during the last ten minutes.

– We played poorly. But it is just up on the horse again and do everything to get us a medal. We came here for that and really want it, said Isabelle Gulldén to TV4.
