Volvo Cars announced on Monday that it will pull out of their sponsorship commitments in the STCC.
– But we have a contract in 2015 and it will be completed, says Alain Visser, Marketing, Volvo Cars.
On Monday, Dagens Industri published an article in which Alain Visser went out and announced that Volvo Cars will pull out of all sponsorships outside their own event Volvo Ocean Race, as part of the company’s new marketing strategy. What sums it concerns can not be sure answer, but the new strategy means that Volvo Cars will completely stop sponsoring motor racing, STCC included.
– We have not yet taken any formal decision for 2016. Given what we have said today, as I see it, however, that quite incredible that we would continue in 2016, says Visser.
From Volvo Cars hold stresses, however, that it necessarily does not mean that there will be Volvos running STCC, just that it will not be a sponsor partners for STCC today.
Otherwise, it will Göteborg not be affected by Volvo’s new strategy. Today, sponsorships, including Frölunda Indians, Gothenburg Horse Show and Gothenburg Opera.
– It will not change at all, states Visser.
– Gothenburg is our hometown.
