Kenyan athletics tops turned off – Vasterbotten Courier

World Athletics shaken by a new scandal.

IAAF suspect three Kenyan top names of embezzlement, bribery and fraud concerning anti-doping work in the country.

The International Association of Athletics Federations IAAF’s ethics committee temporarily turns off the Kenyan federation chairman Isaiah Kiplagat, vice-chairman David Okeyo and former financial director Joseph Kinyua, team officials during the World Cup in Beijing in August.

The decision is made to ” safeguarding the integrity of sport, “and the suspension is valid for 180 days.

The trio are suspected of embezzling money from sponsors Nike and undermined the anti-doping work in the country.

In addition, Kiplagat have received two vehicles from Qatar athletics federation. Qatar’s capital Doha was awarded in November 2014 hosting of the World Cup 2019th

On Saturday announced the Kenyan federation that seven of the country’s athletes turned off for doping offenses. Among the seven are the two sprinters runners Francisca Koki and Joyce Zakari, which was shut down temporarily by the IAAF, and was sent home from the World Championships in Beijing. Making a total of 30 Kenyan athlete recently suspended for leaving positive doping tests.

Kenya topped the Beijing medal table at the World Cup for the first time – with seven gold, six silver and three bronze.
