Linda Haglund is dead – Vasterbotten Courier

Sports Telegram Linda Haglund, one of the most successful athlete of all time, died Saturday at South Hospital in Stockholm, writes dn.se.

Linda Haglund treated in hospital after a period of back pain.

– Doctors found a clot in one lung and Furthermore, they found that Linda had cancer in many parts of the body, says Linda’s brother Jimmy Haglund dn.se.

Linda Haglund was , one of the famous 56 deuce, a collection rare successful athletes who were all born in 1956. The group also included Bjorn Borg, Ingemar Stenmark, Frank Andersson and Thomas Wassberg.

His career came to an abrupt end when she was convicted of doping in 1981.

Linda Haglund was European champion at 60 meters indoors in 1976 and came second in the European Championships outdoors in 1978 and four in the Olympics in 1980.

She won twelve Gold medal in the years 1974-1981 and holds still those Swedish records in the 100 and 200 meters.
