RUKA. A few hours after blunder told Heidi Weng himself of the mistake.

The Norwegian, called himself “the world’s biggest idiot” and thanked the Swedish athletes who comforted her after the finish.

– I think in anyway that the Swedes were very diligent. It was very touching, says Heidi Weng.

It’s been a few hours since the great miss. It was in the women’s pursuit as Norwegian Heidi Weng finished the race one lap too early.

She was together with Stina Nilsson, IDA INGEMARSDOTTER and ingvild flugstad østberg in the peloton behind Therese Johaug and snatched the slopes up towards the stadium. But up at the stadium opted Weng home stretch, even though it was a lap behind.

After the race she walked away from the ski stadium without saying a word, but a few hours later before leaving for the airport met Heidi Weng media .

She told the assembled press about their feelings – and acclaimed Swedes who comforted her after the finish.

– You saw well what happened. I thought it was 7.5 kilometers and went on goal … says Heidi Weng with a wry smile.

Where was the fault, it was the second no, or other reasons?

– No, I am perhaps the world’s biggest idiot on and off. I do not know what the next thing will be. It might be going the wrong way on track …

Can you describe the hours after the race?

– I was disappointed for half an hour afterwards. I have been irritated before myself, but done well afterwards. I hope the same effect, says Heidi who runs in Lillehammer next weekend.

How did you feel when you were in the target area?

– When I wanted most bury me. I just wanted to take off my skis. I thought I was five minutes before I had stood in the finish area so darn long. But then I thought that I just had to run and it
