No Citroën cars in the World Championship rallies in 2016 – Vasterbotten Courier

Citroën leaves rallying for a year. Automaker waives the World Cup next year to develop a new car for 2017.

“To get as many resources as possible to develop the new car, waives the Citroën Racing Team from the WRC championship next year” writes the automaker said in a statement.

The 2017 season is that a new generation of rally cars. The current models were produced until 2011.

Citroën, the world leader for many years with Sebasien Loeb took nine world titles for the French marque. This year topped the World Cup three Volkswagen drivers.

Loeb will drive winter’s Dakar Rally, but switching to Peugeot.

The Norwegian Citroën driver Mads Østberg and his Swedish co-driver Jonas Andersson hold on To change stall until next year.

– There are three others that are interesting: Hyundai, Volkswagen and Ford, said Andersson to P4 Värmland.
