All matches must is played.
It is 90 minutes to go between Denmark and Sweden in the playoff for two losing nations in the European Championship qualifiers.
But … and I hardly dare think about it … the game at the park in the evening may be the last Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes the national team.
We do not know.
We just believe.
If we lose against Denmark tonight will coach Erik Hamrén to resign, it is however, nothing we do, it’s something we hope.
There is another thing with Zlatan.
He said we should be told after the game tonight.
Olympics are not for Zlatan
There is talk that he should, or can, be included as over-year in the Swedish Olympic team in Rio de Janeiro next summer.
Frankly I do not think it’s something for Zlatan. Olympic football is not the same glamor as the World Cup or European Championship.
Lose Sweden against Denmark tonight we miss the European Championships in France in 2016 and I can not see that Zlatan tangle forward in a highly uncertain world championships -kval with a team that is about to be built, and will not be competitive until perhaps another one or two qualifiers.
That’s just keep our fingers crossed for the Swedish victory or a draw tonight.
Then we are ready for the European Championship in France. If we have something in which to do can be discussed, but it is clear we must play if we qualify.
A deep, black hole to fill
Erik Hamrén disappear.
Some of his less merry men disappear too.
We can live with.
However, it works best to hell if (when) Zlatan ends .
I do not remember when it was, but we were on the way to or from a country in which Sweden had played or play and Disco said suddenly:
– What are we going to do that day Ibrahimovic puts in?
Say it.
There is a deep, black hole to fill.
New times, new heroes.
This is the football with rock music, history must be rewritten and eventually, the player Emil Forsberg, Abdul Khalili, John Guidetti, Oscar Hiljemark and Oscar Lewicki that will carry forward the team.
They are all, in one way or another, Zlatan boys.
They may be already and will probably be very large and popular, but none will be as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, no one gets a new Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
He is the greatest we ever had.
has delayed before he was beloved by the people
I admit I fell for him the first time I saw him, and then he had not even played the game with Malmö FF.
But as a teenager, he had irresistible charisma and a mischievous, charming smile that made you immediately noticed him in a room full of more famous footballer.
On the pitch, he was as irresistible.
He was in the beginning a youthfully naive style of play that might not be the most effective, but that was often Fine Art and was almost always something you looked with a silly, happy smile.
The first time I sat down and talked to him was in 2001 in Chisinau in Moldova. Ibrahimovic had played with the U21 and they had won 2-0, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored one goal and Pontus Farnerud the other.
We sat at a large table in a desolate hotel and saw snow fall, there I was, editor Linnaeus , Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ralf Edström . Ralf asked
We talked about autographs and I suggested that Zlatan would write her a single letter, a Z, as the cartoon character and the movie hero Zorro.
The funny thing was that just Ralf Edström asked for an autograph. Ralf came through the years to be very critical of Zlatan.
He was in itself not alone.
Zlatan had a long uphill before he was beloved by the people.
And once he got there, it was the children’s earnings.
All children loved the early Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
They saw through it cocky attitude and saw a young man who was perhaps uncertain, but was as natural as happy as they themselves, they discovered and recognized the humor and warmth.
And all immigrant children and -ungdomar, of course.
You have before you an incomparable hindsight how outrageously superior and successful Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been in the football team.
Have done much outside of football
I can tell klackmål, the most outstanding goal in overtime against Hungary , dribbling and cannon shot – and the four goals (four!) against England at the Friends Arena was inaugurated and I immediately named it Zlatan arena.
But Ibrahimovic has done so much else, and perhaps as much better, outside of football.
He has been a role model for a generation or two Swedes and new Swedes now, he has his style and his social engagement built bridges between the suburbs and the inner city.
He has got young men and women, to read a book. “I am Zlatan” is a fabulous success not only in Sweden but also in much of the Western world.
It seems that there will be rain in Copenhagen again tonight.
I’ll have more on me than I had last Saturday in Solna.
I should have gloves, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Zlatan win tonight.
In all forms of separations it is important to cling to a straw.
To Zlatan one day lay off is unavoidable, but it’s not something I want to think about, Yes, I want to enjoy a little more.
