EU parliament wants to avoid Blatter – Hufvudstadsbladet

Sepp Blatter recently announced surprisingly that he will step down as President of FIFA. EPA / ALESSANDRO DELLA BELLA

The European Parliament wants Fifa-base Sepp Blatter ends now. But any appeal to the World Cup boycott did not happen in today’s resolution.

– Small changes are not enough, but big changes are perhaps not sufficient. Fifa needs a fresh start, said the European Commission’s sports and culture officer, Tibor NAVRACSICS

, when MEPs in Strasbourg debated the Fifa crisis last night.

In a resolution adopted at noon today – which admittedly is completely non-binding and most to speak up – voted since the European Parliament to urge FIFA-base Blatter to resign now and not wait until a successor is complete.

– calls Therefore, FIFA, in an open and inclusive way, appoint a suitable interim president to replace, called the resolution, voted with a clear majority.
