Segers outbreak of the referee after missing the penalty – Aftonbladet

Winnipeg. Sweden passed a credit against the United States, but it could just as easily have been three.

Caroline Seger was furious over a missed penalty when the ball bounced on the Sydney Leroux’s elbow.

Leroux, however, was of a different opinion.

– Penalty? No. I was in a position to run, says the American striker.

After a shaky premiere match Sweden accounted for a real war effort against the favorite ridden United States. Despite the mangled Swedish team got set up with an inexperienced back line ended the game goalless.

Draw then, but it could also have been a profit.

Partly to Caroline Seger hit the crossbar in end of the match, but also to Sweden had a penalty after 20 minutes when Victory went to the half-volley after a corner. The shot stayed in Sydney Leroux elbow and bounced out.

Many agreed that it would have been punishment, including TV4 expert Malin Swedberg who called the situation “crystal clear”.

Caroline Victory also protested vehemently against the judge’s decision.

“Punishment? No “

– Yes, it is clear that it reacts. We’ve talked about it a lot, the judges say to us that the arms will be down, says Seger.

You clearly showed that you were disappointed?

– Yes, but I think it’s pretty important. Too bad she can not speak English.

Sydney Leroux disagree with the Swedes. She thinks that the

judge did the right thing acquitted.

– Penalty? No. Was it punishment when it met her (Nilla Fischer’s) arm? It was a situation where I was in a position to run. And so it was a situation where she was in the penalty area and hit her hand, says Leroux.

“Have arm out there”

Would there have been two penalties? Or zero?

– No, I do not … the rule is that if you run and do not have time to take down the arm, it is not punishment.

The situation Sydney Leroux takes up was when Nilla Fischer had tucked the ball into the penalty area in the second half. Then had Fischer arm folded out, but replays visible to the ball not touched any unauthorized body.

– I have your arm out so it might look like hands, but it was absolutely not, says Fischer.

Sidney Leroux find it just as easily could have been a penalty as her situation.

– No, then she may watch television pictures back. I have bad eye on their situation, but it does certainly here, says Fischer, pointing to the chest / shoulder.
