The 28-year-old point guard Kristi Toliver was born in Virginia, but also a Slovak passport. She belongs to the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA and could have played there with Swedish Farhiya Abdi now, but has chosen EM instead.
Tolivers shot is something that the Swedish team has to look out for.
– You have to play tough defense game, says Lars Johansson.
Kristi Toliver intend to bring Slovakia to victory in the opening game against Sweden.
– We’ll try to come out hard and take first win . We will win all the matches we can and now everything is focused on the game against Sweden, says Toliver to Radiosporten.
Sweden reached the quarterfinals of the European Championship two years ago. Build-up to
the European Championship has been good with two straight wins against Latvia. But the damage to Elin Eldebrink worries. She will play the premiere but are not one hundred percent of match fitness.
