In May 2017, a decision on which country will stage the World Cup in 2026 have been in Kuala Lumpur. Now push it up then.
FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke is currently in Russia. During the day he will meet with members of the Russian World Cup delegation.
– Whatever happens in FIFA it is important that the World Cup must be protected. That’s why I came to Russia, says Valcke told the BBC.

Russia and Qatar was voted as the host country for the World Cup 2018 and 2022, by a secret ballot among the 22 members of FIFA’s executive committee. Right now investigating Swiss prosecutors if it should have been financial irregularities regarding the award.
The United States are favorites to stage the World Cup in 2026, but also Canada, Mexico and Colombia have shown an interest.
Australia and China can not be selected because the World Championship can not be organized by countries from the same soccer organization that organized the World Cup four years earlier. Both countries belong to the Asian football organization, the same as 2022 years of host country Qatar.
