The Czech ice hockey coach Vladimir Ruzicka resigns after bribery. Even before the World Ice Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic in May, data presented that pointed out Ruzicka as recipients of bribes. Ruzicka claims he is innocent and the victim of a media campaign.
“I have decided to resign because of a coordinated media campaign directed at me since April. I’ve never done anything illegal, and will continue to defend myself and clear my name, “he said in a statement through his lawyer.
During his time as a club coach in Slavia Prague will Ruzicka have received EUR 130 000 from a man with the promise of
giving the man the son of a fixed place in the club’s A-squad. The man filmed the handover of the money, and the video has now been published. Ruzicka argue that the money would be used by hockey club for renovation.
