Unless the audience hearken Stenson’s call, he might take matters into their own hands.
– The solution is perhaps to record a small five-minute tape with phone clicks as you are listening to, you hear it then, he says and laughs.
The involuntary Linslusen Henrik Stenson is the big favorite to taking his first victory in the Masters. And with its initial 70 beats – two under par for the course – he’s good with the home contest.
– There is a fine beginning. Looking at how I played I do not think I left many kinds out there, says 39-year-old.
While looking Stenson after the game he showed up on the US tour before flu, winter flu and colds hit in the spring. Above all, he sees deficiencies in the long game.
– I need some time to work on it. I do not anticipate that there will appear something amazing self-confidence, but it’s something I need to work on in the long term, says Stenson.
US Masters at Augusta National – the season’s first major – in the middle of April suffered Stenson with cough and heavy head after the aftereffects of the flu. Yet there was a 19th place – in large part thanks to good play on the greens.
– The long-term plan and work on the putting has absolutely yielded results. It is the piece I put the most focus on raising again. I was one of putt statistics for the three weeks when I played well in the US, says Stenson.
The next major is US Open at Chambers Bay south of Seattle June 18 to 21, and the Masters in Skåne will be Stone’s last competition before then. He glances however long than that.
– The great long-term work is that if you’re working on for a long time – sooner or later you where you want, and then sits there, hopefully for a longer period, says Stenson.
