Swedish collapse of the World Cup premiere – Aftonbladet

There was a heavy premiere of Sweden.

After the dream start losing Swedes defense game in the second half and Nigeria were able to score three goals.

– The feels like crap we lead 2-0 at half-time and we lead 3-2. We did not play well either, says center-back Nilla Fischer for 3-3.

The World Cup premiere is over and it became a tumultuous, heavy start for the blue and yellow.

Just like in the World Cup qualifiers was the defense game that wrecked and Sweden were pressured by a spirited Nigeria.

Bubble skirt and poor defending gave Nigeria the chance to catch up with Sweden and criticism from TV4 ‘s pundit Malin Swedberg was sometimes hard.

– Game-wise, not Sweden at that level you wish …. Sweden will be happy not to lose this match, she said.

– I do not believe my eyes, told his colleague Daniel Kristiansson after Nigeria’s last goal.

Yet it started so well.

The team had major problems during the World Cup qualifiers with getting dividends on set pieces scored twice in the corners.

The first thing for an extension of Nilla Fisher who went through Nigeria’s Desire Oparanozie into the goal. And after a good half hour was Nilla Fisher front again. Therese Sjögran hit another sharp ball in, first chance, the ball was tucked into a free Lisa Dahlkvist. Midfielder in turn received a half shitty hit, but Nilla Fischer managed to pinpoint the ball.

Hero during the Euro 2013

It looked at the break out to become a nice opening night in Canada. Center-back, who was one of Sweden’s great heroes during the European Championship in 2013, had given Sweden a dream start.

But Nigeria continued to worry about Sweden in the second

half. And Nilla Fischer was involved again, but this time negatively.

Sweden received strong criticism during the World Cup qualifiers for his weak defense game and both times it was ball pin and feeble efforts which opened for Nigeria.

Nigeria reduced first in the 50th minute with a shot from Ngozi Okobi, who turned away Nilla Fischer centrally. A few minutes later, put Nigeria on and sent a long ball towards Asisat Oshoala who pushed for Nilla Fischer and got free path to goal.

– She should have taken the brawl better, said TV4 commentator Malin Swedberg.

Completed collapse

Sweden understudy Linda Sembrant gave Sweden the lead again after a good foreplay by Lina Nilsson, but the victory never felt safe. Nigeria continued to pour on to Sweden and rising star Asisat Oshoala could both miss the open goal and get a couple of chances.

And finally came the acknowledgment. Nigeria Okobi struck a fine ball behind Sweden’s central defenders (Linda Sembrant relegated and Nilla Fischer up in midfield) to Francisca Ordega that completed the Swedish collapse.

Head coach Pia Sundhage was still quite calm after the pending match.

– This football was not good from our side, we can do better, she says to TV 4th

Sweden meet in the next match, the United States. A US playing its premiere later in the night.
