Lingard decided late against Sweden – Swedish Radio

Overrated was the word that Ludwig Augustinsson used when he talked about the English players. It was one of many acid passes from the Swedish U21 national team that Gareth Southgate thanked for, and used to fire on his players ahead of the meeting in the U21 European Championship in the Czech Republic.

The England coach was hoping to get to see high intensity, many races and a damn attitude. But it was a reaction that did not occur on Andruv Stadium in Olomouc. At least at first.

It took until the 85th minute before substitute Jesse Lingard neat and stand a chance sent the 1-0 goal past the keeper Patrik Carlgren.

A goal that gave England an important victory for the rest of the playoffs in the Czech Republic, which means that Sweden’s fate is decided in the final group match against Portugal on Wednesday.

– England has the sharpest chances but I think Sweden makes it great. Sweden should take the attitude, the will and the good game they showed today. They have definitely made more than a passing effort today, so Radiosporten football expert Håkan Mild.

Head coach Håkan Ericson chose to invest in a prudent defensive against England’s Premier League stars. Sweden opened with a very low defense, kept the team intact, was right in positions and it was only when England’s ball carriers approached the center line as the first press was inserted.

A game in a way that made them had gained control of England’s few offensive attempt, and that those on a few occasions

found the right with a few adjustments. Simon Tibbling, who was entrusted by Sam Larsson, John Guidetti and Isaac Kiese Thelin created some concern but no goals were not.
