Spencer Abbott joined Frölunda last summer. After four months on the ice, both kedjekamraterna Andreas Johnson and Johan Sundström become internationals.
– My virtue? No, that I do not think so. There are two really good players, says Abbott, laughing.
During the past week has Frolunda two new internationals. When couples Mårts announced the squad on Monday was Johan Sundström with, and on Thursday was supplemented Tre Kronor squad for the Channel One Cup with Andreas Johnson replaces Dick Axelsson.
The common denominator of both is that since last summer – in addition to playing with each other – played with Canadian Spencer Abbott.
Is that your profits that they took place in the Tre Kronor now?
– No, I do not think, responds Abbott and laughs before he continues:
– There are two very good players. Their CVs speak for themselves. It’s fun to play with them and it’s fun to be a part of the chain.
In Vaxjo low range behind the final goal and created lots of chances in general.
– It has worked very well at the end. In the beginning we kept on learning each other and trying to find the chemistry but I think we are starting to find that now and then it will be easier on the ice, says Abbott.
How do you find to play in Sweden Scandinavium home?
– It is very fun to play in front of fans. The atmosphere here is fantastic. Each evening, they started us so it’s fun to be part of.
Is there a major difference with North America?
– That’s right big difference . I think it is a bit more defensive here. Although the rink is larger back checking all the really hard so it makes it tough to score and score. But it is good for it makes you a better hockey player and that’s what I want to be.
5-0 against Växjö meant Frölunda’s third heavy victory in a week which also defeated Skellefteå 6-3 struck out Lulea from CHL for victory on penalties.
– There is huge for us. We lost our series lead for a while and now we’re back on top. This is where we want to be. We continue to take these kinds of victories then I think we will stay up there, says Abbott.
